The free fatty acids vary from 5 to 17 per cent., or even more, according to the source of the oil.

Coconut oil is extracted from the fruit of the coconut, and is solid at room temperature, with a definite sweet, coconut odour. It has a light texture, despite its solidity and is soothing and healing on irritated skins.

Coconut oil comes from the coconut of the coconut palm tree. This oil is great for moisturizing and can help serve as a protective layer, helping to retain the moisture in your skin. This oil is very mild and great for people with sensitive skin.

Coconut oil can be used as a base, and in massage oils/creams and certain medicated shampoos, but is used in natural skin care products for its properties as an excellent humectant, helping to keep moisture in the skin and preventing water loss.
